"“Domestic Abuse" means any of the following engaged in by an adult person against his or her
spouse or former spouse, against an adult with whom the person resides or formerly resided or
against an adult with whom the person has a child in common.”
If you have been accused of domestic violence in the state of Wisconsin, it does not necessarily
mean a conviction. If you are convicted though, the implications could have an effect on your
child custody, right to own a firearm, and possible jail time. If the charge stems from a single-
incident or there is a reported history of violence, time is of the essence and hiring an attorney
to protect your rights should be a priority.
